God Worshiping

Borculo Christian School has started the process of adopting Teaching for Transformation throughout the school. During the last school year, each classroom oversaw using one of the throughlines as a guide for teaching students and teachers. Each month a different chapel was led by a classroom and their teacher. Teachers would choose a throughline, such as Earth Keeper, or Servant Worker, and base their chapel presentation on that topic.

The 5th grade class presented and taught the school on the throughline, “God Worshipper.” The 5th grade students spent a lot of time preparing for their chapel. They chose appropriate Bible verses to read aloud, sang songs that highlighted the importance of praising and worshiping God and performed skits showing what a God Worshipper might look like at Borculo Christian.

Students from the 5th grade class even taught the school how to worship God through prayer. They taught the prayer formula of ACTS to the student body, teaching students oneway to pray to our God and ended their chapel talking about a service project that they were working on. The 5th grade class had taken a field trip to a local non-profit business that is making water filters that can be easily assembled and passed on to people all over the world who need clean water. While on the field trip they made approximately 900 filter kits and 2000 of the P&G packets! They invited Village Water Filters to our chapel where they showed how the filter scan take extremely dirty water and make it clean right in front of their eyes. The 5th grade class invited the rest of the school to partake in this service project by raising money to send water filters to our sister school in Oswego,Kenya. A fifth-grade student, Bentley, said,

“Even a small school like us can change lives in the world.”

Addy and Myah, two other fifth grade students, stated,

“It made us feel great knowing we were blessing other people around the world!”

I was very proud of how the 5th grade class presented the different ways that we can worship our Father. They worshiped Him through reading the Bible, singing praise songs, prayer, and serving others.
