Adopted Ambassadors

Grace Community School
Amanda Albright shares John Keeling's work from his 12th grade US Government and Politics course at Grace Community School in Tyler, Texas. John's Deep Hope is that his students will recognize, accept, and embrace their adoption into the royal family of the Kingdom of God while serving as ambassadors to the Kingdom of Man. His Storyline is Adopted Ambassadors.
This Storyline is compelling to me because it contains such a strong combination of belonging and agency. "Adopted" reminds students of their belonging to the family of God; "Ambassadors" calls students into meaningful action! Through this invitation, students in Mr. Keeling's class have investigated what Nicolas Wolterstorff calls the "quartet of the vulnerable" (the poor, the immigrant, the orphan, and the widowed) in their community and have translated their investigations into FLEx.
